capturing naivety
"Scoring Snapchat was a particularly meaningful project for me, as online grooming and children's safety are topics I care deeply about. Rather than focusing only on the danger itself, I wanted the music to capture the innocence, curiosity, and trust that make young people vulnerable to manipulation in the first place.
Much of the score is built around a sense of fragility and openness. I tried to reflect the naivety that is so often exploited by those with harmful intentions—not as a weakness, but as a natural part of being young and learning about the world. The music follows the emotional journey of that innocence as it encounters deception, creating a contrast between feelings of safety and the underlying threat that gradually emerges.
My goal was to support the film's message by approaching the subject with empathy and sensitivity, highlighting not only the risks of online grooming but also the importance of protecting and valuing the trust that children place in the world around them."
