Hafnar.showcase is a window into the soul of Reykjavík’s largest creative community, .haus. Each month, it spotlights the work of a different in-house artist, offering visitors a glimpse into the ideas, practices, and creative worlds that shape the community.

Located at Hafnarhúsið, the showcase reaches thousands of visitors and may be one of the most viewed exhibitions in Reykjavík. By bringing contemporary creative work into a highly accessible public space, Hafnar.showcase creates a bridge between artists and the wider community.

the spark
The idea for Hafnar.showcase came while simply walking past the window one day. Looking inside, struck by how much creative talent exists within .haus — and how little of it is visible to the people passing by outside. Behind the walls of Reykjavík's largest creative community were artists, makers, designers, musicians, and innovators, yet most passers-by had no idea what was happening inside.

identity
Following the strongly established Hafnar.haus visual identity, we chose a playful approach for the showcase branding. The exhibition title was developed as a graphic element in itself, incorporating the signature yellow square symbol — a visual cue that reflects the shape of the window.
